Hey there, Wolfman!
Interesting piece from you here. We are rarely shown your true serious side here at Fox and Quill. My kudos! I'm certainly in agreement with you on the power of a cover for a successful book. As devoted as I am to the craft of writing, all writing, I fail so miserably in deciding a cover design for my own. Since so much of my work tends to extoll nature or the Cosmos and since I've been blessed with such a magnicicent array of beautiful photos, both of my book covers, as will the third, use a 'real' photo of natural beauty most applicable to the content. Then, I turn it over to Chris Masters at Infinity who capably enhances a beautiful scroll design and title placement. On the Rainy Day Cover, my wonderful professional photograper, Paul Wamhof, doctored the shot of the surf on a mighty Pacific shore which was in reality taken on a glorious cerelean blue sky and over laid it with the impending storm clouds rolling in over the water. With Chris's title design, it ended up working beautifully. I've had countless positive feedback on the cover. That's always an option if one can't settle on a graphic arts design! Use a real shot that is applicable to the content nestled between the covers and bring out the book's power with a few enhancements with the help of Photoshop. Often, this provides a helpful solution to the dilemma of something so crucial as the cover. Great point I've yet to see touched upon here. We can always depend on you for great content and innovation, O alpha wolf of the wolf den!

Jack,
The old saying that you can't judge a book by its cover is still true today. The first cover of your latest book 'Of Beryl and Alabaster' was nicely done, but very misleading regarding the story. The revised cover is most appropo. Your own research paid off. Well done! Now, when does it make it debut for the whole world to see and buy?
