Hi John,

I suffer from me-ism. I tend to want to talk my head off in gathering, losing out on the benefits of listening. I agree thoroughly with the premise of your essay. I had a teacher one time that was frustrated by students blinking off, then asking, "Could you repeat that, I didn't get it." He would respond, "Listen louder" and go on with the lecture.
