Responses for ~ Pauline's Story
"All Aboard"

Hi Pauline,

Pauline when I saw you this week you didn't say anything about this exciting trip. Wow you could do an adventure murder mystery while riding on this train. Did you ever think about writing for travel magazines. You do great detail.

Wonderful train story, Pauline!
I have a friend who is an avowed, almost fanatical train lover. I've no doubt he'd love your story, too. Alas, he doesn't have a computer and (believe it or not) has no plans to get one. One of those anti-modernity sorts, I guess. But to each his own. Anyway, thanks for your story. I really enjoyed it.

Ah yes, the perils of train travel. At least you weren't on the trestle when the arsons hit. I remember traveling by rail in Japan in 1966 from Misawa in the north to Tokyo. It was a steam train down to Morioka. The black smoke and ash puffed through the cracks around the edge of the windows and we looked like black-faced vaudville actors by the time we got to Ueno Station in Tokyo.

Pauline! This is wonderful! Your trips keep getting better! I love trains and it's one of my dreams to take the northwest tour that Amtrak offers. What you guys did sounds even more exciting even with the bus ride! An old-fashioned steam engine! Parlor Cars! How intriguing! I didn't know you were planning this trip. Thank goodness I was in Alaska during this time or I might have attempted a stowaway. :) You could have hid me in your travel trunk.

And what's this about a new book? Why aren't you telling me these things? It's been a good while since I've heard from you. You do a train trip every year? This must be the grandson who you told me so loved nature. :) I sure enjoyed reading this. You did a beautiful job of describing your journey.

Hugs,
Susan
