Responses for ~ Susan Haley's |
Susan that was quite a story. could feel your emotion. I was born in PA but in Erie not near where you were. I am glad you had a great time. Maybe you could write in more detail about it later.

Susan,
I love the symmetry in your writing as well as the poet feel. I try to stay back from those deep wells of emotion as not to fall in.

AMBER RETURNS TO MAINE is a haunting, beautifully written essay. Only a poet could apply the touches Susan Haley has to what would otherwise be a hum-drum essay of a writer's trip to Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Maine. What Haley does here, is nothing short of magic - her intermingling of the present with the past, the mingling of her present life with past fictional images -- her generous descriptive powers elevating the common subject matter we would expect to find in an ordinary essay. Also apparent is her love of animals, exemplified in the scenes and byplay as her pet pit bull, McPup,copes with the new realities and their "peoples."
