Well, Pat, you bring confidence to an old land-lubber
to stay on dry shore. What an experience. I would say once is enough. Ghosts
have a way of getting stronger they more they are challenged. Maybe it's
best to go back to the car hobby...
I'm am very glad you and your crew made it back safely. Now you have a wall of
emotion to draw on to write a book - a real blue water novel. The biggest winds
I ever expeienced in a sail boat was in broad daylight coming back from Avalon
to LA in 30 knot winds on a cousins boat. He didn't want to tack, so we stayed
hiked up at 40 degrees the whole trip, porpusing through the white caps. I can't
imagine the bone chilling fear of your trip. As they say in the fly business,
any landing you can walk away from is a good landing. I guess that goes for boats
as well.
