Well Bob, John Harnish has always said it and you are living proof:
"No one can publicize your book as well as you, the author." Why? No one else has the same
passion for your book. How could they? How could I expect anyone to feel the commitment I
feel to my book since I am the one who toiled over it for five years while completing the
research, conducting over one hundred interviews and writing more drafts then I wish to count?
You are so righ. The author must do something every day to help generate sales. I admire your
great energy, keen focus and deep down belief in yourself as an author. You are an inspiration.

I sit here reading this article and marveling at Bob O'Conner's energy!
My congratulations to you, sir, for all you've accomplished! I'm enviable, however, of your magnetic personality!!
I've done the mechanics of what you propose and I have the cards and the brochures, the flyers and the books in the trunk.
I'm the group leader for our Sarsota Chapter of the Florida Writers Association, active in other groups and newsletters
and ezines, work closely with the Infinity Authors - Infinite Talent project etc. etc., and am even scheduled to do a
couple Networking workshops at Conferences, BUT approaching a busload of ninety people, already irritated at their delay,
and starting an 'event' curbside totally terrifies me! Even approaching strangers in places of business and trying to 'sell'
myself and my work terrifies me. And, being a little old lady on the road alone doesn't lend to extensive book 'tours'.
So, how about another column on this subject for timid little ladies who've made a major step just crawling out from under
the rock of reclusivity! What do you suggest for those of us, men too, that are introverted and shy? Do you bottle that
vitality in a pill by any chance??
