Dan,
I so identified with your article on Working Titles. I am currently at work on
my second book and struggling with its title. Hundreds of them have rolled around
in my head, but none have yet shouted BINGO. But I'm getting closer and will
somehow know when I have hit that bullseye target. As always, you gave me some
thoughts to ponder.
Thank you,

Thanks Dan,
Your insight is well taken by us songwriters. The title is everything, since it also carries the weight of the hook for the piece. The shear volume of a book compared to a song just makes the selection of the best title more challenging. Which part of the book shall be captured by the title to marry the whole story together - quite a task? But, I must agree, the reverse is asking for trouble. A, not so serious, working title can create a monster. Your mind is writing around something that is going to be replaced. It's like pulling a plug out of the story and may cause the whole effort to sink.
