Lois, thank you for having the courage to write this article. The truth hurts, and we can no longer sweep it under the hospital bed. Our so-called "cheap labor" in this country is costing us dearly.

Thank you, Lolo, for telling it like it is. Many don't want to hear truth. I found that out doing the political columns. I think all the problems this country has today can be blamed on way too much bureaucracy. That Congress with their backs against the wall you speak of are the biggest culprits. Some of the things that go on in that 'body of legislators' border criminal! The deals that were cut in vote buying and the compromises made have taken all the punch out of the so called reform. Nothing is going to change. It\'s going to get worse. As for funding, we haven't funded anything but the deficit. All the wars are fought on credit but the Right doesn't yell then. And this bill will help more in the poverty levels. As usual, the only ones that don\'t get a break are the disappearing 'working people'. No president or administration can fix the problems that have taken decades to create and as long as Congress remains all about themselves and re-election, nothing is going to change. I think President Obama is learning that the hard way. As always, I so admire your courage in speaking out the truth.
