"Sweep up broken dreams and move on."
John, what a powerful message for all of us, and somehow, knowing your sense of humor, I feel confidant that you live the life of that messenger.
This was a charming story and now I know you can write more than sci-fi. I did enjoy this read. I'm still a sucker for a happy ending!
Very best,

The way I see it, Jack Wolf captures the essence of small town America. If you ever lived in one, you would know what I mean. Can you imagine a scene where a young woman accidentally crashes her red BMW sports car into the front window of a newly remodeled bistro café, ready to open that evening, and the owner nonchalantly says, "We'd planned to open this evening, but can I help you?" Only in a small town would the careless driver turn out to be the loan officer and, by the way, the daughter of the finance company's owner, who financed the loan to remodel. Out of this chaos, love and marriage ensues.
Paulee's Bistro is a heart-warming short story of love, friendship, good deeds, and the ability to take something awful happening and turn it into success. A nice read, Jack.
Best Wishes for a Prosperous 2008.
