Responses for ~ John Wolf's Essay
"Reader's Remorse"

I read your essay: ‘Reader Remorse’. I agree.

Ever notice how many atrocities occur every day in ‘the land of the free’? Society accepts what happens as commonplace. This is the backdrop for a book I’m writing. People scheming, suffering, and trying to survive as the horrors get closer to families and loved ones. We often comment on our government and its elected leaders, but look at general behavior of citizens. It may not be a coincidence, but our citizens have an ‘anything goes’ mentality. Confucius in his teachings stated that in order to have good government, society must be good. In order for society to be good, the citizen must be good. In order for the citizen to be good, there must be self-examination. That was 2500 years ago. Like gravity, there are fundamental constants in our world. Maybe we’ll see a turnaround, but maybe we’ll sink to the level of German National Socialism where rules are written for some against others. Who knows.

All the best,

David Rosenberg

Sorry, Jack,

I can't answer your question, but I'll give you my five cents worth. Unfortunately, dirt, smut, illicit sex, racism, scatalogy, and so on is another way of dumbing the masses and not having to think. Maybe we live on the wrong coast and don't know the right people, and that's why we don't understand. Does anyone out there agree, or is it just Jack and me?
