Norway House and Michael Kleiner Michael is one of the original authors that helped me bring the Fox&Quill into being by participating in networking with other authors, mainly Infinity published authors, to stay in contact with each other once the flare of a writer conference fades away. Michael was a regular at the Infinity Writer's Conference at Valley Forge. My co-conspirator, Lois Stern, and myself had compiled a list of names and email address to help conference goers stay connected - networked. She also was a speaker at the conference. I was in California with a burning desire to help fellow authors link our websites for a stronger Internet presence. We pooled our information and go the links made between authors. I started the Fox&Quill to keep the balancing act going. Many of us still keep in contact via email and many have contributed to the Fox&Quill. I saw a way to help Michael, because we have a large Norwegian community here in San Diego. Maybe I could get his book seen by them and make some sales. It turns out that all you have to do is look around the corner to make things happen. So here we are three years later and still going strong. It's all about authors helping authors. Maybe someday we can start a national conference and develop relationships with the major book distributors. I can dream... The article in the next column, I hope demonstrates an example of how we can help each other. Think about it - no one else will. If you have an enspired thought about helping your fellow authors, please let me know. We will do our best to make it happen.

Michael sent me a promo package for his book. It contained his book, a large poster, post cards, and business cards telling about "Beyone the Cold." I took the package to the Culture Village in Balboa Park here in San Diego, where many of the countries of the world have a small cottage staffed by volunteers that represent their native culture or the forefathers. The day I pick purely at random happened to be Norways Constitution Day, May 17. This is celebrated like our 4th of July and the park was full of Norwegian fans. It turned out to be the perfect time. The Norway House was in charge of the intertainment and Michael's material was all the buzz. We have since received a letter from the president of the Norway Society telling us they have posted Michael poster and are reviewing the book, which will be on display at the cottage for all to see on a permainent basis. Vielen Glück mit dem Buch!
