I worked in Medical Insurance Billing for over 25 years. This was my job to receive telephone calls from irate patients about their medical bills. I always said if the person on the other end of the phone was a really vile son of a gun I would not go out of my way to help them. But if they were nice and were genuinely concerned about their bill I would help them as much as I could.
There were many reasons for the problems or denials of a person’s medical bill. In my book I go through at least ten reasons why this can happen.
There is also a chapter on medical insurance terminology to help you communicate with your medical provider’s office and insurance company.

This is such a complicated subject that the government has been fighting for months on how they are going to change medical care for everybody. What bothers me is we need change but I am really terrified to have this important legislation in the hands of people who do not know what a CPT Code or ICD Code means. But when you read my book you will understand this important coding system.
