About the Author:
Annette Langer completed a successful career with the Federal Government, taking an early retirement after over 26 years’ service. She went back to school then and trained for a new calling, this time as a travel agent, rewarding work she did for many years thereafter.

Although she has dabbled in writing much of her life, it was only recently that she began in earnest to focus on it with a purpose. Her debut book Healing Through Humor: Change Your Focus, Change Your Life! was the result. The book has been very well received by reviewers and readers alike.

How I met the Author:
Annette is one of those rare personalities that you meet who you know is going to be a joy to be around. She is full of humor and has a positive outlook that is infectious. I had the pleasure of being trapped in a car with her and our doubious driver for a few days last summer as we attempted to hawk our books, buzzing between book stores and civic centers all over the Bay Area near Oakland, California.

It would be hard pressed to describe our experience better than to just call it Mr. Toads Wild Ride. This was supposed to be a simple booksigning schedule, but became an adventure dealing with our host, whom was an odd duck for sure. We went to senior centers during their lunch time. Needless to say, they were more interested in a hot meal than a hot deal. We laid out books to near empty civic centers and bistro botiques one after the other. I've never been to so many venues to sell books that were so empty in all my life. It became funny if it wasn't so sad. The best thing about the whole thing was just meeting Annette. I know you'll love her books.   John Wolf

Now retired from planning other people’s travel, she has crafted another book, recounting all those crazy travel experiences she said no one would ever believe. She is also proof positive that life can go on after illness or injury. In A Funny Thing Happened on My Way to the World: Diary of a Fearless Travel Agent, Langer details her lifetime of travels to all seven continents. She takes you along on her adventures in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, North America, South America, and even Antarctica. She has even included a selection of favorite photos taken around the world. Sometimes her escapades are amusing, even comical, and sometimes they’re downright scary, but the tales of her explorations are always enlightening!
