Nullify Bad News
by John Wolf

Nowadays my mind is full of sand and gristle,
Clarity of thought through stained window,
I wait for the doomsday missile,
Escaping time ticks to and fro.

I sit on rock and feel like moss,
Bone on stone barks my underside,
Creating something seems a loss,
Every discussion a diatribe.

Humanity solidifies into melted mass,
No room to stretch out arms,
Oil slicks stick, refuse to pass,
We never heard the alarms.

The TV evangelists bark the end is near,
Buzzards circle, darkness full of eyes,
We must push aside the fear,
We must smother all the lies.

Teach children to respect, if you can,
Even from your jail cell or on the run,
Let your passion expand,
Don’t let life come undone.

Curb digital greed,
Tame numbers not to maim,
Plant a giving seed,
Time to use your brain.

Don’t let robots tell you the news,
Rattle deception behind closed doors,
Not all music has to be the blues,
Stop buying from the money whores.

Time to wake up sleepy eyes,
Walk out into the sun,
Grab the wheres and whys,
Let the good work be done.

Get off the rock,
Push back the tide,
Open the lock,
Walk with pride.

Only time stands still,
Everything else moves by,
Muster up the will,
Let your dreams fly.
